Need some vacation ideas!

Hi Gang...

I have a week of vacation coming up around the first week of July, but I can't seem to decide what to do with it. Since I'm feeling really indecisive at the moment, I thought that I'd post a thread for some travel ideas!

Anyway, here's what I have to work with:

1) I have 3 days of vacation, plus the weekend. That gives me five days total.
2) I live in Connecticut, and would like to travel somewhere outside of the northeast US.
3) I don't have a passport, and don't want get one at the last minute. So, that limits me to the US, Mexico, and Canada.
4) Since it's July, I don't want to travel anywhere that will be extremely hot. So, no suggestions like Miami, Dallas, or Las Vegas, please.
5) I have a $1,500 budget, including airfare and hotel.

Anyway, that's all I can think of so far. I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with! If I get a lot of good suggestions, I might put up a poll later. Thanks!

I've been to Vegas once before. It was fun, but I'd like to try something new this time.

Anyway, the white water rafting trip sounds interesting.. Any recommendations?

You can always drive down South too... If you drive somewhere on the East Coast, you can be in the Mid-Southern US within 15-18 hours depending on where you wanna go and save on airfare.

Maybe look into going to VA Beach, the Outer Banks, NC (Nag's Head, Cape Hatters, etc), Myrtle Beach, SC.....or head to the mountains....go to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park... (more tourist traps)....there's always Nashville or Chattanooga, TN as well...plenty of night life in most tourist towns.

Why not try one of them dude ranchs? Never been but they sound like hella fun.
