Need some upgrade suggestions...

Now, I've been fairly lax about my upgrade habits in the last year and I've come to the conclusion that I need an upgrade. Here's what I've got so far:

PII 400
Diamond TNT2 Ultra
Asus P2B
196 MB RAM (all 100MHz stuff)

Really not too bad for a 6 year old system. Anyway, I've noticed that Diablo II takes a nice performance hit when I've got my Necro fully revived up and all the baddies come. I'm looking at the TNT GeForce GTS 64 but I don't know if that will solve the problem. Do I need to toss out the processor and jump into the new GHz stuff? If so- Athlon or PIII? Overclock an 800MHz? It's been too long since I did all my research and I'm waaaaayyy behind now. Some help?

Your should probably look into getting a faster CPU for gaming purposes. A better video card alone will not improve performance that much.

i would say step up to kt133a chipset mobos.
850 plus t-bird cpu
gforce 2 gts card
good solid memory...
all within acceptable price ranges now days....
good luck!!

How much money you got? Don't get a duron, definitely. FIC AD11 going for $109@newegg, ddr memory cheap(crucial.com), so don't skimp. You can save maybe $20 on a duron, but would you want to on ur CPU?
