Need some upgrade advice

Hello all,

I think it it finally time to upgrade my old video card, which should be the last component really bogging down my system right now (particularly when it comes to gaming).

Here are my current specs:
Athlon 64 3200+ (939 pin)
2GB PC3200 ram (4x512)
All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro
420W power supply

I figure that once I upgrade my video card, I should be able to play games pretty comfortably for a while. (At the moment the game I am looking to upgrade for in particular is Oblivion).

The two main options that I have been considering so far are:
- Geforce 7800GS, currently around $300. This would allow me to keep running my AGP platform for a while longer, and the reviews seem to indicate that the card is providing pretty solid performance for the price.
- A new motherboard with PCI-Express support, and an X850XT (PCI-Express). It looks like I could get this package for under $240 currently, and this would provide the advantage of updating my system to PCI-Express, which will certainly be a necessity during my next upgrade cycle.

Does anyone have any other suggestions, or have any input as to which way I should go? Also, does anyone know which of these two options will provide better performance in the short term? (I haven't found any direct comparisons yet.)

Thank you for any input!
