Need some upgrade advice please!

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my gaming rig and want to use the e6600 processor and would like to hear some advice on what would be the best chipset and mboard to use with it. Reading up it seems like the 965 chipset is a good one and that the Gigabyte DS3 mboard is recommended by some. I'm a little confused on the type of memory used, should I go with the ddr2 800 (PC2 6400) memory modules? I would like to overclock it a little, not too much. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

I am running the same processor, and I am also running on a 965 chipset. I am howeveru sing an MSI board. I wasn't really sure what to go with at the time, but I went cheap on the motherboard and graphics card until better driver support comes out for Vista.

I am running DDR2 800 memory. I plan to do some OC'ing in the future. That's all I can say really to 'relate' to your situation. Sorry if I don't have any indepth information for you on motherboard choices and memory.

If you're just doing a little o/c ing, you'll be fine with value ddr2 667, but you can get ddr2 800 for about the same price, and that will resell better when we all move to ddr3 in a few years
