I have a Dell 600M laptop. Im wondering which distro has the best support for all of the hardware, wireless especially. it has an intel 2200 wireless b/g card. what do you guys use on your laptops, or wish you were using on your laptops. why you chose, etc etc. thanks! :)

That's a pretty common and well supported laptop. Most everything should work out of the box on any of the newer versions of the main Linux distros.

I prefer Debian or the latest Fedora Core, personally. With Fedora Core3 everything should work decently out of the box.

I just to FC3 on a thinkpad R40 (centrino, radeon 7500). Everything worked out of the box, including 3D, except the wireless drivers had to be installed manually. However, there was no trickery involved, just compile and install them and the FC3 hardware sniffer picked in up for configuration on the next reboot (and you could configure it manually without reboot).

I was actually surprised how smoot it went. Now, my full, payed for, version of Win2K refuses to accept the CD key that worked on my previous computer on the thinkpad. What's up with that?
