Anyone know if the EP-5BVXB (i'ts Socket 7) is an Epox motherboard? I can't find any info about this baby-AT board on their site or AT or google or IE search or motherboards.org. Anyone remember this board? It has one Dimm, two SIMMs no AGP but does have USB pinout. Has the VIA V82C 585VPX northbridge and VT82C586B southbridge. I want to set the jumpers and USB pinouts correctly before I try to BOOT it.

Anyone know what the USB pinouts are:

There are 16pins;

........
........

pin 1 is bottom left and pin 9 is top left

anyone have the manual for this board?

Is it

P-+g.
P-+g

or

P-+g.
g+-P

and do they start from pin 1 or 16?

Thanks.

Thank for the other link Peter. I was able to access ftp.epox.com using Mozilla and downloaded the PDF manual .

Interesting, that link shows a different USB layout than the manual shows. In the manual its like this:

1 USB_VCC
2 USB_data0-
3 USB_data0+
4 Ground
5 USB_VCC
6 USB_data1-
7 USB_data1+
8 Ground
9 Ground
10 Ground
11 Ground
12 Ground
13 Ground
14 Ground
15 Ground
16 Ground

Hmmm, I'm not sure which is right.

Trust the manual, then. The link is for a later mainboard with more USB ports.

What you should do is grab a multimeter and make sure that at least the VCC pins (+5V) are where you think they are. Shorting out those will zap something, getting something else wrong is harmless and recoverable.
