My band plays mostly 80's hair band stuff... like Gn'R, White snake, the scorpions, Led Zepplin and we do play some modern rock, three doors down, Tom Petty, Blues Traveler and anything inbetween. We're really at a lack of slow songs right now, we want to stay away from

Eric Clapton - wonderfull tonight and
Extreme - More than words

I just found a good slow one...

Pearl Jam - Last Kiss

if anyone has any ideas... please hook me up.. I'm looking for anything within those genres

Thanks!

Richard Thompson has a complete catalog of gloomy / wistful electric folk and rock, including "Waltizing's for Dreamers", "Jennie", "How Will I Ever Be Simple Again" and dozens more.

Peter Himmelman has some great slow / mid songs like "Time Just Flew" and "Million Miles Wide"

Michael Penn's "Long Way Down", "Invisible", "Beautiful" and several others.

Emperor - Thorns on My Grave
Static X - Get to the Gone

Those are the slowest songs I listen to :)

JK... How about :

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man, Tuesday's Gone
Blue Oyster Cult - Astronomy, Don't Fear the Reaper, etc
GnR - Patience (don't know if you guys do acoustic), Don't Cry
Tom Petty - Free Falling, although I imagine you've already done this

I checked out he monster Ballads CD, some of the stuff on there was alright, but some of it is a little bit much for a 4 piece band, 2 guitars, bass, and drummer, there are lots of keyboard songs on that.

"every rose has it's thorn" is a song we want to stay away from, it's another song frequently played in this area.

"winds of Change" - Keyboards... we can't really do it.

I'm a big Gn'R fan so "patience" might work, but I'm trying to find a way around the piano part in "november rain", that would be a great song to do as well.

Keep the ideas coming though, thanks.
