OK, this is getting really irritating...I installed SetiQueue, installed as a service...seemed to be running ok.

Installed the multi-CPU 1 & 2 files...ended having to reboot the server in order to get a single instance running. Modified the .reg files to point to my own SetiQ, rather than OK's. I have a valid SetiID and user.sah files.

Each service runs, but I can't tell if S@H is actually doing anything. SetiQ is also logging multiple failures trying to d/l new WUs (tonight).

What's up w/ this?
SetiWatch was put into each client directory, but it can't seem to tell me if the local client is doing anything either.

OS: W2K Server, 2CPU, SP2.

Look for a file called state.sah open it in word and see a part that says "prog=" that number tells you the percent done.
If you don't have a state.sah file then your seti cli isn't working.

As for the downloading of work units, I know there's been some problems at Berkeley. I suggest pointing your queue at one of our team SetiQ's to get WUs.

Well, I ended up cycling the SetiQ service, and it connected up, ended up getting a couple of WUs, and now both clients are going! (They have the state.sah files!) Woohoo.

Of course these WUs won't be completed until tomorrow, after the scheduled connection time, but that should be ok.

Thanks guys!

Can I configure my SetiQ service to point to another queue? Like OK's?

How?

Login to your queue, select "Settings", then click on the "Click to Edit Settings" link at the bottom of the page, then when your settings page comes up, under the first big section "General SetiQueue Settings", find the entry for "Proxy Server". You can then put OK's queue info like:

"orangekid.teamanandtech.com"

And for the "Port" entry, enter:

"5001"

Hope this helps? :)

Thanks...I thought that was for a firewall proxy, which I don't need. I'm trying to avoid the issues associated w/ the Berkely bandwidth problems.

Woodie - it can be used for that too - which is why they also include a username/password field if needed. :)

[EDIT: Let us know how it works... :)]

Be sure to change the connect type from the Winproxydefault to WinINetProxy. At least I had to do it to get it to work. :)

I saw some posts about that and was going to add it to the directions, but it seemed some people were just fine with the default setting whereas others had to change. YMMV! :D

Thanks for the additional posts...it appears to be working now, as it finally uploaded some WUs, as proved by my Seti stats page. I tweaked some of the cache settings, to pick up a bit more work, but I haven't checked it yet today (it's set to only connect between 0100 and 0500).

So, it appears that the machine is settling down. A few more days, and the Q will know the client averages, so things should really smooth out, and I don't expect to have any more issues with it.

Thanks to everyone, I'm finally contributing new WUs to the race. (Ok, only 2 so far, but that's better than none!)
