This is my Current Setup:
p4 2.8C O/C to 3.26
MSI P.O.S. Mobo ( AGP )
1 gig Corsair XMS DDR400 ( I think ) Twin 512's
EVGA Geforce 6800 GT 256 MB Card.
I play only CS:S, and I have to turn everything down & completely tweak my system to get good FPS.. I get 100 when there's nothing going on, but when I see people, I instantly drop to 30-40... Anyways...
I'm looking to Upgrade to PCI Express ( Maybe SLI in the future, but just 1 card for now ). I haven't read much up on the Core2 Duo's, I've been out of the loop for a while. Is AMD 64 bit still great? or is Core2 Duo the certain way to go?
I'm looking for a Mobo & Cpu combo that will be faster than my p4 3.26 w/ some specs such as these:
PCI Express 16x ( Dual Capable )
Core2 Duo Proc ( or x64 if better )
DDR2 mem
Onboard Lan
Good Core2 Duo Proc ( Not sure what the speeds are )
Looking to try to spend around $300 for the pair ( $400 if really need to )
Please let me know what you guys think, as I would like to get this soon
