need some serious help

I can't boot with USB flash drive. I used the HP utility and dos boot files to create a dos boot disk to my usb flash drive and I set the flash drive to first boot device in my bios, but after I exit the bios it tells me something like to restart my pc or insert boot media into boot device.

I have an M4N72-E if that makes any difference.

What could I be doing wrong?

Is there a keystroke needed to create that boot sequence? To boot my T510 laptop with a flash drive, I have to hit F12 and a boot menu pops up.

I did what corkyg said and it booted, but when I enter the BIOS flash command it says "bad command or file name". Why does it do that?

BTW, I'm trying to flash my video bios with nvflash. I have the nvflash folder and the new bios extracted to my flash drive. I renamed the new bios "biosname.rom" w/o the quotes.

do you have a CD\DVD? burn a Hirens boot cd and flash from there.

Is the USB drive formatted as FAT ? Dos doesn't support NTFS by default.

I tried to flash it, but the EEPROM is write-protected So this case is closed, but I'll probably be putting the card up for sale shortly.
