A company I used to do website work for just called me and offered me $100 to come back and give a 15-20 minute talk about the "fundamentals of website design" to their Techonology Committee.

Of course I accepted ;)

Basically they wanted me to talk about stuff like what makes good layout and navigation, stlyes, goals of a website, etc. Nothing too technical but just general ideas.

I would like to sound at least halfway intelligent, so does anyone know any good links to sites that would have info about this stuff.

Thanks!

15-20 hours long and you're coming here for a beginning? Uh oh ;)

Now is the part where I wonder why I read that as 15-20 hours. Well, consider this a bump then.

K.I.S.S. I have a shop online, I get customers all the time complaining about other sites and how hard it is to find stuff. I have the same problem when I compare prices, if you spend 10 minutes just trying to find something on a site that you should be able to find in a few seconds, there's something wrong.
