Need some quiet 80mm fans for the case

I need to get 3 (1 in front bottom, 2 in back) 80mm fan for the case. I wish I can use something bigger, but size is restricted, so I have to go with 80mm. Can someone recommend a quiet 80mm fan?

GlacialTech SilentBlades are excellent fans (25CFM, 19dB), but they're not marketed in the US. I can personally recommend them.

Other than that, Panaflo, Nexus and Yate Loon is what you should be looking at.

What kind of air flow do you need, and exactly how quiet are you looking for? Also, is price much of a concern?

Check out svc.com's clearance section.
They have the Coolermaster Rifle-bearing fans for as little as 1.25 each, depending on the color. They move 32CFM @ 25 dBA. Excellent fans for the price.

I have those bookmarked but I wonder, would two 80mm fans at 32 CFM (64 CFM total) be enough if I were overclocking? Maybe with an Arctic Silencer on the video card.

Temps depend on a lot of things, for too many to know if 2 fans will be enough.
Things like ambient temps, which CPU and HSF you have, Case air flow design, number and type of heat producing components, etc.

You can always buy and install more fans if needed.

See if you can find a decent price on the 6-pack of 2000rpm Cooler Master fans. I picked one up for $10 a little while ago, fans are pretty quiet. Doesn't hurt to have extras, or you can sell the other 3 off. Comes in a nice little retail package with fan screws and 3-4pin adapters for each fan.

PC Power & Cooling also makes these, and I can vouch for their silence. I own one, and I can barely hear it even if I put my ear right up to it. It doesn't move a TON of air, but neither do Panaflo L1As and they do their job quite well. 😎

These fans also have a five-year warranty. And they're ball bearing fans, which are generally recognized as having longer effective lifespans than sleeve-bearing fans. The fan I linked to above is also available with a 4-pin molex connector if you wanna power it directly via the PSU. I think it also has a temp sensor in it that ramps it up or down depending on how hot things get. Mine, that I bought over a year ago, does.

Don't mean to sound like a fanboy here; they're just nice nice fans. I've been reading some posts on this forum about Delta fans being pretty good too, and Adda as well. Panaflos are now being made in China under the NMB-MAT moniker, and there's been some question as to whether or not they're the same as they used to be. Jury's still out in my mind, as I've read several negative comments about the new ones. Papst also has a reputation for making very high quality fans, but they used to be made in Germany and are now being made in Hungary, and I don't know if there are any quality issues with them or not. Haven't heard or read anything about it at all.

Incidentally, the sleeve-bearing 80mm fans that came with my Cooler Master WaveMaster case are very quiet as well. Can't complain about them at all.

Hope this helps. Good luck. 🙂

Nexus are the quietest if your an uber silence freak. They do not move much air, enough for the savy though. Next up imo that are readily available at a very good price are the CM sleeve fans. If you need max air at relatively decent dBA's than I would opt for a Panaflo or a Delta.
