Can someone please tell me, what do I need to Record my VCR sercurity tapes to my computer? I know I need hardware and software, I'm currently running XP home ed. I need to be able to do this, for easier access to to part of the tape I need. That way I don't have a 12 hour tape to take to court. Also my VCR has a S video out only so I have an adapter to plug into a RCA plug.😕

Lots of video capturing and encoding options here just pick one that fits your budget and needs. The USB2.0 ones are easy to work with provided your system has USB 2.0 support.

You need a card or a USB unit to capture the video to your computer. I think you also need to have Windows Movie Maker installed, unless you're using the s/w that comes with your capture solution. WMM works for me and it's free. You will also need a relatively fast machine to avoid dropped frames.
