I want to upgrade the mb on one of my lan machines. The current setup is a Gigabyte GA-8siml, p4 northwood 2.8, 1gb stick of ocz gold el pc4000 & a leadtek 6800gt. Trouble with this motherboard is that a: it's only 4x agp and the 6800gt is 8x and b: even though the ram is pc4000 i can't lock anything so it's stuck at 266mhz since the northwood is 533. I want to upgrade to an inexpensive board that will support 8x agp and let me run the ram at atleast 400fsb (hopefully faster). I'm currently looking at an ECS 848P-A Deluxe V2.0 for under $30. Is this mb going to give me what i want? I know ECS isn't high quality but like i said i don't want to spend much on this upgrade. Anyone have any other suggestions for a low cost socket 478 alternative?
