And I have yet to receive the official offer from my current company detailing the breakdown of my new salary and bonus structure.

I am curious if it would be rude to ask my new manager (who I am somewhat casual with) about my new salary.

I was thinking of writing him an email something along the lines of:

"Hey out of curiosity, I did not receive the offer letter yet and I was curious about what should I expect salary and bonus wise?"

What do you think?

 
got two more days. but have to head out of town on Monday for the new promotion so I wont be able to see the official offer from current company until later this week.. like end of week later.
 
what are the two positions? what is the company culture at your current employer like... like, do they expect you to work there forever, or is it with the times...
