Here's my situation.
I need to get a DX 9c GPU. I have an older 4X MB. It has been suggested to get a GeForce 6200. From what i've gathered I need at least a 300W PSU. I understand all that.
I ve read that I need 18A on the 12V rail. My motherboard doesn't have a 12V socket on it.
The PSU 's I've looked at that are around 400W have a 12V connecter. I know I can plug the 20pin in and leave the 4 pin off , but will I still be ok for the 6200?
Or what do you suggest. It's for my 80 yearold Mom's PC. I need a DX9c card so she can play her casino games. Just trying to beef up her PC a little without spending to much.

So basicly you have no clue what your taliking about.

Sounds like your trying to upgrade a much older system. Alisting of your system specs would help out allot. You say your motherboard doesn't have a 12V connector. I assume your refuring to the P4 connector that plugs in near the CPU. If thats the case then we are talking pre Pentium 4 PC. If thats the case then the CPU on the PC is probably holding you back from the game more then the video card is.

But the 6200 doesn't require any aditional power connections from the PSU so the PSU currently in your mom's system should be fine. But as i mentioned the game may need more then what your mom's system has. Check the system requierments again and make sure her CPU is up to the task. But it sounds like she would be better off if you just put a couple hundred more into what you where planning to spend and get her a new PC. Just head out to wall mart and pick up the cheapest one they offer and your good to go.
