Need some photoshop tips...

I'm used to painshop pro, so forgive me. But how do you manipulate text so that:

- You can center the text vertically within the layer and/or selection?
- You can evenly space selections/text within a layer and/or selection?

I hate trying to be creative.
 
I don't have access to Photoshop CS at the moment(as in I'm too lazy to look😀) but I was wondering the same thing last week. There are good instructions in the help files if you hit F1 and search "align".
