I have my new rig up, and wanting to get max performance without frying it =) I am new to OC'ing and would like some input on what "YOU" would do if it were your box.

Athlon 64 3200+ running at 2ghz at 1.520 voltage

Asus K8V Deluxe MB

1GB(512x2) Corsair DDR PC3700

ATI 9800pro Vid Card
--- MISC Specs ---
Coolermaster ATC-201B-BXT Case
Zalman CNPS7000A-ALCU
Seagate 160gb 8mb SATA HD

Not sure what other info is needed, but I will gladly edit post for anymore info that is needed

Keep in mind I am an OC'ing noob. I gotta start somewhere though, and am curious to get started.

You should be able to get to 2.1ghz just by raising the FSB to 210 in the bios. I doubt you'll even have to touch the vcore or vdimm. Download Aida32 to check your temps (should be ~40C) and voltages then Run Prime95 for a few hours (or longer if you can) to see if it errors. If it doesn't you can stay there or try the same at 215. You might have to raise the vcore slightly though. If you can get to 220, that's pretty darn good with this round of A64 chipsets.

the pci bus should be locked independent of the hyper transport generated fsb
not sure exactely how it is all explained but you should be alright atleast to 215 with that board
if you have good cooling increase the vcore and vdimm a little bit where you have to

can you explain what you mean by locking the agp/pci speeds in the bios? What does it do?

Like I stated in my post, I am an OC newbie..just unfamiliar with what certain things do, and locking agp/pci is one that I dunno anything about =)

Good point, Soulkeeper. Make sure that you lock the AGP/PCI sppeds in the BIOS.

There is no PCI/AGP lock on any of the Via boards. In fact there isn't a working PCI/AGP lock on ANY current A64 board. To be honest you won't get very far...just be happy with a fsb around 210-220.
