need some new headphones

Well I think its about time I get some new headphones. I currently have a pair of Sony MDR-CD280 which are a couple of years old and they are faling apart. I was able to temporarily fix them by using lots of electrical tape and splicing the chords in areas where shorts have developed so they wont last much longer.

If you dont know here is a link to them on amazon(note they have been discontinued)
Sony MDR-CD280

Anyways I was looking at new sony options then discovered Sennheiser which is suposed to make awsome cans. Basicly what I am looking for is a replacement that will be used mostly for listening to music mainly hiphop, soul, funk, jazz, whatever. I also would like something that I can use both on my regular home stereo as well as portable cd and mp3 player. I can also tell you I am a fan of bass as long as its clean sounding. Also later on I might be buying a set of midrange turntables and a mixer as a hobby and will be using these headphones i buy.

I'm looking to keep the price around $100 or less. Here are some options of what I am looking at getting I've came up with so far

SONY Studio Monitor MDR-V700DJ DJ Headphones - Retail $94
SENNHEISER DJs HD212 3.5mm/ 6.3mm Connector PRO Stereo Headphone - Retail $59.99
SENNHEISER HD 485 3.5mm/ 6.3mm Connector Explore new sound dimensions Headphone - Retail $79.95
SENNHEISER HD 280 3.5mm Connector PROFESSIONAL Headphone - Retail $99

I was leaning towards getting the Sennheiser HD 280 at first but then i saw something about needing a headphone amp with some devices like soundcards, cd &mp3 players, etc because of the 64 ohm Input Impedance. Anyone know if that is true?

hrm thnx that might have been this site i was on origonaly when i wanted to learn how to repair my headphone cables. Cept the only problem it seems to be down for some reason atm :/

Yeah, it usually goes down for about twenty minutes some time between 3AM and 5AM eastern. Routine maintenance takes place daily, and that's around when there are the least users that it will inconvenience. When it goes back up, I'd recommend going there too. In the mean time, a few questions:

Do you need the headphones to block out any noise (isolate)?
Do you have any preferences wrt size and ear cup pads?
Are you looking for something more neutral or more fun?

Yes I'm leaning towards headphones that will block out noise expecialy for time when in noisy enviroments and example of that would be a car ride with others having the stereo blasting while I'm trying to listen to my music. Thats one thing i didnt like about my sonys I had the didnt stop outside noise from coming in so it was hard to hear what I was listening too. As for size i usualy go for the bigger phones and pads. Not exactly sure how to anser your last question but I'm looking for something that will be versatile useagewise.
