Need some MS Access help...

Here is the issue. I have a table names Orders inside of that table is a field named Order_Num

I have a form for entering Orders. Well in this form it has a field to enter the order number. How can I have it default to the highest number in Order_Num?

This... Make it an autonumber field. Don't present it to the user, just have the db set it.

Thanks guys that worked. New question: I have a table named Order Items
In that table it has a field named "Line_Num" and a foreign key named "Order_Num". I would like it to count 1,2,3,4,5,6 for each order number. This way one Order_Num has many Line_Num items under it.

If that's the case, I would just add that count in the report itself. There's really no need for it to be in the database. Just my $0.02.
