I'm looking for some metal albums with that slow, bass heavy feel to the music. Any recommendations? I'm open to pretty much anything except for the death and satanic type stuff, thats a bit to deep for my tastes.

Also what would you recommend in rock for a guy who likes these albums

Audioslave
The Cult - Beyond Good and Evil
Puddle of Mud (yeah I know, but I like em anyway)
Metallica

Really nice site. Type in Puddle of Mudd and you get:
Similar Artists: Brides of Destruction Lo-Pro Chad Kroeger Sevendust Nickelback Fuel Soundgarden Creed The Cult Cold

Check out 3 Days Grace, new band that's pretty cool.

KISS - Creatures of the Night

Heavy album...often overlooked because it came out as they were starting to lose popularity.

hmm ... sounds like metal, really slow and basesy, but not satanic or death metal ..... this is called "Stoner Rock" and "Doom Metal"

90% of the stuff I listen to is what you would consider Death metal and Satanic, however, the bands listed below are a small fraction of the bands in the other 10%.

For Stoner Rock, some great examples are Electric Wizard (this band matches your criteria 100%), Slowhorse, Alabama Thunderpussy, Southfork, Earthride, and Backdraft
Some of the more well known stoner bands are Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu, Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, Goatsnake, and A perfet Circle

Doom metal also somewhat fits this criteria (its generally very similar to stoner rock), however, most doom metal bands use death metal style vocals.
Some great examples of bands that use clean vocals in doom metal are Saturnus (Perhaps the greatest doom metal band of all time?), Of the wand and the moon, Novembers Doom (some tracks, check out the knowing, that CD is frickin awesome), Lake of Tears, Anathema (though these guys are kinga deathy at times, and kinda gothy at other times), My Shameful, Oversoul, Pale Divine

Most of it is numetal/mallcore, but the later ones are good.
