Need some mechanical advice on a car

Trying to get it ready to sell...

I've noticed over the past several months that the car has a hard time being put in 1st gear, especially when it's cold. I can usually get it dropped into gear if I double clutch and/or try to do a shift into reverse first and then try for first gear again.

Problem seems to be getting progressively worse. Could this be anything simple like not enough transmission fluid?

Anyone have any advice or ideas? Thanks.

It CAN be helped by a nice synthetic transmission fluid, at least with maximas. That may help it, but it may not
