Need some major help.

Alright, I need some major help. As of yesterday I was having issues with my computer. I couldn't get the task manager to come up at all. I went looking for a fix, but before I could do that, I had some popups that i've never had before. These popups are called aurora. Anyway, I downloaded a fix for these popups from the symantec website, it seemed to work, but it made me restart my computer. When I did this I had issues booting the computer up. I would get through the normal stages, but when I got to the point where the windows XP screen would normally come up, the system will hang and restart itself again. I've tried booting in every possible way, safe mode and all. I just can't seem to get the windows screen. I've tried putting the CD in to see if the windows install went bad, but I can't get it to boot that way either.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Here are my specs:
AMD 64 3000+
MSI K8T NEO2
Nvidia 6600 GT
512 mbPQI turbo pc3200 RAM

This computer with the issues is my main computer, so it really puts me in a bind. PLEASE help me!!!

Hi orlex,
Boot the computer in "Safe mode". & then try your Win OS CD to "repair" the files that got trashed.

I can't even boot in safe mode, I don't get far enough. It just reboots itself before I can even get anywhere near windows.

I would recommend a complete reinstall...

Go into your BIOS to make sure your boot device order is set to CDROM first...

Make sure you are using the appropriate safeguards to avoid collecting junk on your system... I use all of the following but probably need more myself:

Firefox to browse
Ad-aware SE Personal (Lavasoft)
Spybot Search & Destroy
AVG Antivirus
CCleaner

...updated regularly & scanned at least once a week.
