Need some major help w/ Splinter Cell...

Please someone direct me to anykind of help..........ok, i just finlished installing the game, restarted computer.

Double click the icon and the game came up with a critial error

"General protection fault!
History: UWindowsViewport:: OpenWindow <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine"

and then it just close it and back to desktop.

No idea whats going on please direct me with some help.

My system specs.

athlon 1900+
512 DDR mb
geforce 3 64ddr MB(just updated my driver to XP)
OS- window XP.
 
1. Install all the latest drivers for your video card, soundcard, and motherboard.
2. Re-install DirectX 8 (run the setup again) or try DirectX 9.
3. If overclocking, clock cpu/memory down a bit.
4. Uninstall and re-install game.
5. If all else fails, reinstall OS and start from scratch.
