Got an account with a local Credit Union.

Signup confirmation emails came from cavion.com, which I can't find on the web. Domain name itself doesn't resolve for me. A basic web search only finds references to a company tied to pharmaceuticals in VA.

Yes, I'll be asking the CU for clarification,. but I'd like to see what anyone else can find out.

when I look up cavion.com in duckduckgo I get an admin.cavion.com address. It shows finastra on the top left corner which looks like a financial corp. https://www.finastra.com/

Edit: the plain cavion.com address takes forever to resolve and then it says secure site not available and the it will not load.

Looks like Cavion makes software for credit union banking.

"Cavion Plus, the credit union movement's leading provider of eBusiness solutions, enables credit unions to securely and economically serve their members through the Internet."

Might be some kind of 3rd party that they use for email. Still it does not instill a lot of confidence when a company is not sending email from their own domain and can't be bothered to setup basic web infrastructure though.

I figured it would be something like this, honestly. Ideally they should have their website configured to explain that to people, but I'm curious whether they just don't support having the emails come from the credit union's domain, or if someone at the credit union just hasn't set it up right. But based on my experience, I'd say it's also plausible that there's incompetence at all ends of the equation.

^^^ That's what I would do. Create an email address off the CU's domain and let the service send from it.

I had another account from another regional bank a few years ago that torqued me off so bad I ripped a new one a few times on the phone. Some of their phone calls were coming from another state even though they had no presence there. They never even tried to explain the reasons.
