Hi ,

I have a Lan Party 875PRO board with a P4 2.6 800FSB which used to do 3.4GHz easy , but i have managed to bend all the pins , now ive fixed all the pins again ( lost 2 of them [ snapped ] ) the Computer wont work , so i guess the CPU is done for . 🙁

Heres the thing ive not been keeping up with the latest in CPU's in the last 4 months so i have 2 choices .

1 . Buy another Northwood chip @ 2.8GHz ( 800 FSB + HT Enabled ) at around £135.00 .
or
2 . Buy a Prescott chip @ 2.8GHz ( 800 FSB + HT Enabled ) 1mb L2 cache at around £130.00 .

I have no idea what the Prescott chips are like .

Also theres the Intel Pentium 4 2.4A (533 FSB) 'Precott'' @ £102.00 but theres no HT with it .

Any one how could give me any pointers ?

Of the 3 you mentioned, definitely the 2.8C Northwood. Maybe even a 2.6C Northwood if you could find a good overclocker.
