1. What YOUR PC will be used for?
Gaming/Multimedia

2. What YOUR budget is.
~$2000

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from?
USA, Newegg/Zipzoomfly

4. IF YOU have a brand preference.
No brand preference

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
Nope everything will be completely new

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
Yes

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
I plan to overclock a Q6600 to 3.0Ghz.

Okay so with that out of the way heres what I have come up with. Ill be purchasing this shortly after New Years, probably around Jan 8th.

Case:
Antec SOLO with 120mm fan and 2 92mm fans(suggestions on case fans?)

Powersupply:
Antec TruePower Trio 550watt

CPU:
Intel Core 2 Q6600

CPU Cooler:
Tuniq Tower 120

Motherboard:
Gigabyte P35C-DS3R

RAM:
G.Skill 4GB(2x2GB) DDR2 800 4-4-4-12

Video Card:
EVGA 8800GT or GTS 512MB(whichever one is instock, hopefully I will be able to step up to GeForce 9 series in March/April)

Hard Drives:
WD5000AAKS 500GB HDD
WD5000AAKS 500GB HDD

DVD:
Samsung 20X SATA DVD R/RW

Mouse:
Logitech G9 Lazer Mouse

Keyboard:
Logitech G11 Keyboard

Speakers:
Logitech Z2300 2.1 Speakers

Monitor:
Any suggestions on 22" Widescreen monitors? Ive been using Dells UltraSharps in the past.

OS:
Windows Vista Ultimate

How does it look? Will the case work for this build?

The case will be fine.

As far as fans, what's important to you? I've seen builds by people who are hearing impaired, who just wanted high-airflow fans and didn't care about noise levels at all. There are also people who want the most silent fan they can find, and are willing to sacrifice CFM. I reckon most people are in the middle.

Are you using the firewire or RAID functions on the P35-DS3R? If not you might consider going with the DS3L model, which is a little bit cheaper. Up to you.

id say get a CM RC690 instead. Its a much better case to keep your cpu cooler.

I've got an Antec SOLO, and it's no picnic trying to work in.
It's pretty snug after everything's in.

I'd get something like the Antec Nine Hundred. It's a little larger and it doesn't have the cross-bar like the Solo does.
It's also got much better cooling options. And all for a cheaper price (after rebate that ends 12/31).

For a PS, I'd ditch the TT Trio 550W in favor of the Silverstone ST50EF-Plus 500W.
The Silverstone is a good solid PS in the same price & power range as the TT. Actually until the 12/31 rebate ends, it's cheaper.

Rather than use the "standing" Tuniq Tower 120, I'd get something like the Zalman CNPS7700-CU 120mm with it's "down-blowing" design. The Tower is fine for cooling the CPU directly, but does very little for the MB components around the CPU area.
The Zalman blowing down does a much better job of overall cooling.

Samsung 20X - Nice pick
Q6600 @ 3GHz - Nice plan
P35C-DS3R MB - A real sweety

Seasonic 500W PSU $70 shipped

No rebate hassles, >80% efficient power supply from best maker in the business.

Why the P35C-DS3R board? For $3 more you can get the P35-DS3P with dual x16 PCI-E slots, heatpipe cooling, firewire and extra USB ports. You don't need DDR3 memory with a Q6600 (DDR2-800 will get your cpu to 3.6GHz at stock speed, much higher than you plan to clock it).

Hey Wreckem, your build looks very good, all the parts are quite good. As for the video card I recommend you to get the 8800GT, they are better in performance and with the better price compared to the 8800GTS. As for the memory you can have a look at the bamacre's suggestions, if you are going to use the Windows Vista Ultimate OS you need to get more memory for a better performance. And if you need some advise on the monitor you can have a look at the Dell SP2208WFP with 1680 x 1050, 2ms response time, 2 megapixel webcam, 2000:1,and is more than capable of reproducing 92% of the NTSC color gamut. This will be a good choice for gaming machine.

Actually, there's a new 8800GTS based on the G92 core which outperforms the 8800GT, although not by an enormous amount.
