need some info re: XP 1700+ overclocking...

Wow, I used to come to these forums all the time, but it's been over a year since my last visit. So it's safe to say I'm kinda out of it when it comes to the latest technology.

Out of necessity, I'm putting together a new system (capacitors exploded on my Abit KA7 board, non-functional). The main components:

Athlon XP 1700+
MSI KT3 Ultra2
Crucial 256MB PC2700 DDR

On the CPU: AXDA1700DLT3C

RIWGA 0234VPMW

I know it's a week 34 Tbred-A, but what about the stepping? Anyone have info on this?

Also, regarding unlocking -- I don't plan to do any serious overclocking, but I'll probably see if I can push it a little bit. Is the unlocking procedure the same as for Duron/T-bird, i.e. L1 bridges? I've seen L3 mentioned, so that's why I'm unsure. Looking at my chip, I see that there is no 'gap' between the L1 dots, nor the L3.

Thanks in advance.

I've got a week 34 RIWGA as well, results seem to be pretty much up in the air with this one. Right now it's at 1.75GHz (166x10.5) at 1.725v.

All Tbreds are unlocked, just depends on if you're motherboard can properly manipulate all of the multiplier bits. Most KT400 boards seem to be able to do it (like my Abit KD7). Not sure about your board, you'll just have to try.

No need to connect any bridges, but like I said, it depends on your motherboard. This goes for all Tbreds (A and B cores).

I'm not entirely sure but I think that many boards can manipulate the multipliers from 5 to 12.5 on the Tbreds without doing any mods. I believe some people have been doing this with the Epox KT266 boards. With pretty much any KT400 board, all the multipliers will be available.

I've heard different things about the Nforce2 boards, but it seems like they cannot manipulate any multipliers on Tbred A processors, but all of them become available on Tbred B processors.
