I have this old hard drive that crashed on me. It doesnt power up and I had no intent of using it (its old). On the drive are some sentamental items that I would like to get off of it. My question is does anyone know of a place that can do this in the sandiego area or online that i can send it to, and about how much does this generally cost to do? Thanks in advance.

i hope you really want it off... because it can cost A TON to get someone to recover data off of it for you... i know we had a customer get a large drive recovered to MANY CDs from DriveSavers and it cost about $2500

this is acutally for a friend that has already been through college and the files are just a bunch of term papers. Nothing large, it will probably all fit on two or three floppies.
