Fit and comfort are the most important feature, If you can try to goto a local dive shop. They should help you find something that will work for ya.

Do as narse suggests

I bought a us-diver package from Big-5 for $25 (reg $50) without any knowlege and pretty much lucked out with something that fits well. In hindsight I should have tried it on before I bought and should have known how to check the fit -- but I lucked out. The generic package probably would leak for many many people.

As an alternative for your trip, I'd suggest trying out a scuba class which are probably common in mexico -- especially if you're staying at a touristy resort.

I tried an "intro" scuba session that was only in a deep pool -- and it was great. I'd think it would be great X 10000 in the ocean.

(I'm hooked enough on scuba to be looking into an actual padi certification class -- which I expect to take before next summer)

I never heard of snuba, so I looked it up....

It looks fun, but not nearly as fun as scuba. I'd spend the extra $$ for the more amazing experience.
