River, huh? Hmmmm.... Do you own kayaks? Have any friends with kayaks? You could easily go kayaking with her in the river. Great outdoors activity, you can do it side by side and enjoy the sites while carrying on a conversation. Lulls in the conversation don't stick out like sore thumbs. Alternatively, a canoe, but then one of you is sitting with your back to the other.

lol yeah she looks old.

Here are a couple ideas.
  • Hofbrauhaus in Newport on the Levee before it gets too crazy in the evening
  • Reds game
  • Go-kart racing. The track I was just to today is right in Indiana. Take I-275 to US-50W. Take US-50W a mile or two and it's on a road off to the right. You'll see a sign that talks about competition go-kart racing. Be warned that the carts are rather fast...my average lap time was 31.48 MPH. :D If she's a weakling it might not be for her.
  • Pavilion in Mt. Adams is pretty cool and you can certainly talk if you stay outside.
  • If she by chance likes airplanes you must go to the USAF Museum in Dayton
  • IMHO it's boring, but some people really like the airport overlook in the evenings. That place gets busy. I-275 to Mineola pike south. Turn left when it dead-ends into Donaldson, and you'll see the signs.

My wife's from Cincinnati, so I'll throw out a few suggestions, other than bowling which is always a great idea:

Take her to that comedy club that's at Newport on the Levee, or hell, even the Aquarium there would be different.

There are some nice coffee shops interspersed among all the bars in the Mainstrausse area, though I have no idea where exactly that is. I've only been a passenger going there!

Also, the Mount Lookout CinemaGrill is kinda cool, since it's dinner and a movie at the same time.

I know what ya mean about the parks. Cincy is nice but there are plenty of bootleg areas! But I did put "go to Smitty's" on my list of life-long goals!

And Dr. Pizza, you must not be familiar with Cincinnati. You wouldn't want to touch that River with a 30-foot pole! It's almost as bad as the Cuyahoga here in Cleveland!

Mainstrausse is in Covington. 6th and Main area. Be kind of careful getting there. I'm not exactly sure which areas around there are ghetto, but I can tell you for sure 12th St. is. You'd probably be ok taking I-71/75 to the 5th St. exit and going over.

Solema, you said it pretty well about the river. No way I'm touching that cesspool.

I think she'd like go-karts, we'll try that.

another pic to prove she's not 43: Text

We've been to 5th street twice, that's where Newport is and it's a good midpoint between our houses. I'm not quite sure what's on 6th though, never noticed anything but houses past 5th.

Ok we're down to mid-30's with that 2nd pic. :D

Newport on the Levee is east of Mainstrausse. Just so you know, if you didn't.

Those go-karts are $15 or so for 8 minutes. It sounds short, but they're fairly hard core. Really fun though. I did two 8 minute sessions, and by the end my arms and shoulders were definitely starting to get sore. Nothing like doing long drifts at 30+ MPH. You'll get sweaty so I wouldn't go there and then want to go straight to dinner or something. Get a later lunch and then go karting to finish up the afternoon maybe. Or dinner and then karting. I'm not sure how late they're open. And depending where in Cincy you are there may well be courses closer to you. For that one make sure you stay on US-50. The intersection is a little tricky.

I'm trying to think of somewhere that won't get boring but won't occupy too much of our time. Dinner would be ok but it's so standard and no fun.

I know you guys have some good ideas, I've seen a few of them. I just keep drawing blanks on this.

I live in Cincinnati. I'm 21, she's 23.

Thanks in advance.

The best date I had with my current g/f we went to this little diner place for dinner, then to a candy shop down the road for cotton candy, then we walked to the beach at night and hung out there for a while, and then we found this little jazz/blues bar on the walk back up to the car. We had our own little corner, it was cozy and warm on a cold night, we listened to live jazz music (and they played her favourite song as their last of the night), I sipped on scotch, she had a few drinks too, and we just sat there and talked.

so, the conversation was something like this:

you: "let's have sex"
her: "what? you're a nice guy and all, but i hardly know you."

According the ATOT dating rules brought to us by Spidey07, you're already one date behind schedule for the "Dinner at your place/Sex" date. You might want to work up the nerve to suggest that soon.

Haha you're being too kind. ;)

Then again as good as life's been treating me these last few years, I still feel like I'm in my 30's. :Q Can't beat the clock though. :(

The obvious answer is somewhere that you two can drink: Bar/Club

Take her to a bar, girls lower their inhibitions after they have been drinking and we all know girls love guys who will dance.

No guy will make fun of for dancing so long as you are trying to laid. Once you have a steady GF hand in your man card if your caught dancing.

I really do apprecciate the advice but neither of us drink and getting laid is not a factor.

I'm definitely no good at dancing but maybe that would just make it funner.

In that case, find her a boy friend who has a life.

You should take out out to play paint ball. Shoot her in the face.

She looks young for 43. Not bad!
