Need some ideas for making good money

I've been thinking a lot lately about money. I'd appreciate it if someone just gave me some good ideas for what i could do to make good money. I'm not the kinda guy who's going to bust my ass working a 9 to 5. Infact, I'm not the kinda guy who likes working at all...but i guess a lot of people probably don't. I want to work smarter, and not harder. Perhaps start a business. I want to be an entrepreneur of some sort, but I don't know what to do. There's not a whole lot of things i'm interested in doing, which is why i'm a picky bastard when it comes to looking for work. I don't have any qualifications of any kind, unless you count completed middle school

I want to be able to live comfortably and give lots of payback to my Parents, who are both great.

We already have a Family Business, which I've been working for, for a long time, but it's not something I'm too interested in, but still, taking over that business and trying to take it to much higher levels may very well be my best option, since i don't have any other leads/ideas. The biz is selling food products, I don't feel like going into much detail. People like these 'food products' very much and i could see it being more successful, but again, I don't know what steps to take. I would like to get it in more stores, I think it's currently only in one store, plus we sell it on the weekends at Farmer's markets (which i hate doing).

Anyhow, if you have any ideas or advice for me, I'd appreciate it.

Even with ideas, if you don't know what to do with them, you'll either fail or get no where.

I suggest you take a course in entrepreneurialship before you try anything.

The people I know who started their own business put in well over 40 hours per week to get it off the ground.

If you start your own business, be sure to take some accounting classes. Join a local small business association as well.

You've got two good kidneys, right? Remember... you can live a normal life with one...

Seriously though, you need money to make money, so start saving the money you make from your family business. Take some courses, like some people said. Then, you need to come up with a business idea that you can market and use to make money. Chances are that nobody here is going to give you a brilliant idea that you can use to make enough money to live comfortably. If anybody here has one, they're either using it or will keep it to themselves until they can use it.

This is probably pretty damn true. I am currently sitting on 4-5 things at the moment but I dont have the means yet to do them. I am sure as hell not going to tell them to one person let alone a whole forum.

Thanks for the replies.

The website for our biz has been up for a while now, and we do a lot of business through it. Not a whole lot, but probably about 15-20%. The website is kinda crummy, but easy to navigate. I need to take it over and make it over. I'm not sure how to get more traffic to the website, someone recommended Google Adsense a while back, I don't know if that's the way to go or not.

I do have a pretty good chunk of change from investing, i'd rather not use it, but, like someone said, gotta spend money to make money. I could also take some courses as mentioned I suppose. I'm really eager to help out my family, and myself financially. I would of course like to *ahem* move out. I'll be 21 soon, so casino poker will be an option :D - Probably a bad option though. Turning 21 also means I will be off of Insurance, so i'm going to need to be able to pay all my medical bills. I just had a big dentist visit this morning, insurance will cover a lot of it, but still, it's going to cost a lot, and I feel bad not being able to pitch in. Not just with that, but with everything I'd like to be able to help out. So, I've got my priorities straight, just gotta find a way to get some green. The more the better.

Buying and selling used cas. But you have to buy low and know how to work on them yourself and then sell at a meger profit. Having a dealers license and buying cars off the street cheap and selling at auction will net you a good enough living.

Put all your money into an Emigrant account and earn 5% on it.

No wait, that would be retarded.

Regarding your family business, try spreading the word about your product. You can do this in person, or mail out samples. It's all about smart marketing and brute force. If you pitch the idea to enough people, the chances are higher than one will catch it.

so you have no qualifications, I would recommend getting some and doing something someone will pay money for.

No one likes work. That is why it is called...WORK. It is not called "Happy Time Lala Dance Hour". It is not called "Party all day so you can party at night". No, it is called work.

Almost everyone trudges off to the 9-5 every weekday morning wishing they were doing something more fun. But, we deal with it and move on with our lives.

Find a job that is at least tollerable, and treat it like what it is: work. You do it because you have to do it in order to have the great life you want from 5pm to 9am.

I really would suggest staying away from entrepreneur work, because that often is 80+ hours per week. And you mentioned that you want to work less. So why suggest something that will almost guarantee working more? Stay far, far away. The key to a good job is that you like your fellow employees/boss. Find a place where you can have a fun relaxing atmosphere with people you like. It'll hardly seem like work (even though you still would rather be doing something else).

These excerpts put together pretty much mean you will fail at life. You might eventually make it to assistant manager of a fast food joint (or something similar), if you're lucky.

why do you think you can work less but make much more money?

unless you win the lottery, good money will take a lot of work.
