Need some help.,

I can't figure this problem out. My computer wont get past the windows logo screen. It boots up the bios, then it brings the screen that asks if I want to go into safe mode, etc... Then it will get to the windows logo and just sit there. It wont load. I've let the computer cool down, I've unplugged all the USB devices, I unplugged the power cord and whatnot. I could use some help figuring this out. Also if I'm lucky enough to get into the desktop programs load funny and sometimes dont respond yet I can't close them out. This just started happening a couple days ago.
