Need some help with Video card compatibility

Ive got a motherboard which is made for ddr2 ram, i have 2 GB of ddr2 ram. The video card i bought is an XFX geforce 7900 GT 256MB DDR3.

being that it is ddr3, will my motherboard support it, or is this different to the compatiblity of RAM?

Appreciate any help.

Yes, the motherboard should support your video card. The card (in regards to its own RAM) is a separate entity.

Yes my motherboard supports the card, i was just concerned about the cards RAM.
