Need some help with this build

basically, nothing is happening after my rig posts.

I had this built last week bt my mobo died after 2 days so now i got a new one and re built it etc.

Now on the last mobo )before it died) i nstalled windows on the hdd, got all my drivers and had a full y working computer.


now on this new build (new mobo) it posts and recognizes both myt sata dvd=rw and sata hdd.

it posts and then instead of loading into windows my screen stays blank (for however long untill i shut it off)

i then tried it it booting from a cd thinking i had to reinstall windows but same thing after it posts nothing happens just a blank black screen.


any idea what this is? i don't think anything is overheating cause inside the case is cool and the bios is reading my system @ 28* and my cpu @ 38*c.

here is my setup.

Q6600 G0 + Tuniq Tower
Abit IP35-E
2X1GB corsair xms 2 ddr2 667
160gb Sata II Hdd
Sata Dvd-rw
XFX 7900gt
antec neopower 520w?
antec p182

u do that by removing the CMOS battery from ur MB for a few hours then retry

damn i didn't think of a HDD failure, i never had a hdd fail on me before, esp a new one.

before u RMA def give it a try in another PC. test it with HDtune and format it
 
try putting a blank new OS on a different drive, then see if you have any problems not blank-screening after post. IMO its HDD

Im going to install the HDD onto my internet machine and see if i can install windows with it.


 
So were you able to install windows on the second pc? I think people were waiting to hear back before trying to resolve things.
 
HDD is %100 fine, popped into my internet/spare parts rig and windows found it right away.

also, I've tried sitting the first boot device to HDD and cd rom but still nothing.

it won't even let me hit any key to attempt to install windows..

 
What video card is in your machine? Still the 7900gt. What happened to the 1st MB? If you have the boot right in bios you should be able to boot to cd and use the install disk. Also check your memory in your other machine and keep everything in bios in auto to start. Is the corsair memory 1.8v? if not you may have to set it in bios. Are you sure your Tunic Tower is installed correctly? Its a lot of things to check without knowing more of your history.

thanks for the effort, i got it running with some tweaking of the bios.
 
What did you have to change in the bios to make it not freeze after post? Good to know it is recognizing the HDD now. Looks like it wasn't the problem after all if its running fine and being read in your other machine.

What was the problem?
