Need some help with setting up RAID 0

I used to have a RAID 0 set up on my rig but an HDD failed (Seagate) and I went back to regular SATA. After about a year now, I bought 2 1.5TB drives to go RAID 0 again but I can't get RAID to set up.

Whenever I turn RAID on in the bios and the RAID controller, my boot drive goes to RAID and I can't load the OS. When I turn RAID off and my boot drive loads the OS, I can't record anything to the drives bc RAID is not turned on.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,

DD

you're not doing anything wrong, fist make RAID then install windows using F6 to lkad drivers, on existing installation it is more difficult.

if you have intel's raid, get their matrix raid software, it can install raid on existing non-raid configuration

Thanks guys!

I will try it out. It's been a while since I've done this as you can see.

You guys are great.

I had to add the Intel Matrix RAID drivers. Now the set up works. I have a 3TB setup now so I had to use some other type of setup that wasn't MBR. I does it make a difference if I want to setup the RAID to boot? I hope not. I'm mirroring it right now.
