Hi all, I am back for some more help here.
I just got a Vantec NAS drive model #NST-375LX to help with backup of my network. I have 5 computers, 2 printers and Sunrocket running on the network through a Linksys switch and then into a Linksys router. All setup with static ip's and everything works perfectly.
The Vantec NAS will not connect to my network when plugged into the switch. It is setup manually with a static ip as well. I thought something was wrong with the NAS. I had an old Linksys hub in a drawer so on a whim, I plugged it into the switch and the Vantec into the hub and the NAS boots right up every time.
By the way, I plugged the NAS directly into the router and that didn't work either.
Problem is I don't really want to use the hub instead of the switch and I don't have much room for another device but I can't figure out why the Vantec would connect when plugged into the hub but not when plugged directly into the switch.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me or make some suggestions of what to check? Because it works perfectly into the hub and not into the switch, I am stumped.
Thanks!
P.S. Router has wireless capability but it is unused. Everything on the network is wired.
