Need some help with linux

Ok, I got a question that's probably really really simple. But for the life of me I can't figure this one out. I'm running SuSE Linux 6.4. Just the other day I decided to download a DNet client to run on my linux box. All went fine and the client install perfectly. I configered the client a little (such as the amount of work to download). However, I did not mess with my connection settings at all in the client. I then run WVDial and connect to my ISP via my modem. When I run DNet with the "-update" context it says it can't connect to the distributed network. I know distributed.net isn't down because all my windows machines access it just fine. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to tell DNet that I have a modem connection or does it automatically detect this? HELP!:frown:
