Hey guys, I just got a Medusa 5.1 headset (amp version) and am having some difficulty setting it up. In case it matters I have an Audigy 2zs soundcard and creative 6.1 speakers.

First off, I'm unsure which wires on cable 'A' correspond to which speaker jacks. The wires/jacks that came with with the speakers are orange/black/green. But the ones that come with the Medusa (cable 'A') are Red/Blue/Green. Secondly, when I tried setting it up I get no noticeable bass and the left front speaker is noticeably louder than the right front. I THINK both of those issues would be resolved once I figure out which Medusa jacks correspond to which speaker jacks though.

So which Medusa jacks match up with which speaker jacks??

Thanks.

I'm serious because I don't think anyone is going to have these that comes to Peripherals. Medusa is not a popular headphone around here.

A good portion of the questions on AT hardware areas can be answered from looking at the product manuals or reading through the FAQs for devices.

I've never seen these in person, but I can give it a shot...

Looking at pictures online there's a control box with sub/center, rear, and front labeled on that.

Ok, so go from your soundcard to the right inputs on the pod.

I'd suggest going to your A2 control option where it says "front left" etc. out of the respective channels. Hook up one connector from the amp to the headphones and then switch it around on the headphone end until you get "center" to come out of both sides of the headphones.

So, now you just have to figure out front and rear.

Play some music without CMSS turned on or any other surround effect and you should only get stereo coming out of your card.

If the amp isn't doing any strange processing (I didn't look into it) then you should be able to figure out what sounds right as you plug the front music jack into your headphones.

If you switch them around and one configuration sounds like it's coming from behind you or it's a little muffled, then that's the rear input on the headphones.

If you can't tell any difference between where the sound is coming from, then looks like the headphones don't work ;)

I've never seen these in real life , read a review about them, or talked to anybody who has these so this is just a general method I would use to try to figure this out.

Okay, I finally got it figured out after about 2.5 hours of fiddling. Your advice helped, mucho thanks.

In the end I actually had to crossover the wires in some fandagled way to get it working plus do a crossover to get the bass right and then had to fiddle with my PC consola sound settings, my EAX sound settings, and finally my THX settings and calibration. Goddamn, that was some work just get headphones working right. But so far the results are great.

Thanks again for the help.
