Need some help with charcoal

I don't know what kind of charcoal this is, but its talking a LONG time to start burning. How can I get the damn stuff to burn? (I have no access to starter fluid)

next time, buy a chimney starter:

it's the only way to go....

but, if you don't have one, use crumpled newpaper, and form a pyramid of charcoal over it....

it should take about 25 minutes to get started

unless it's wet or something

X2!! Chimeny starters ROCK. I picked up the Wal Mart special myself, I think it was like 5 or 6 bucks.

I have plenty of newspaper, trying that now... any other ideas?

big coffee can, cut the other end out of it, punch some big holes in the bottom edge for more air. crumple your paper in the bottom of that, stack briquets in there. You now have a low budget chimney!
