Well I am damn sick of this VC820, for which buying RAMBUS is a pain. Can anyone help me out with a mobo suggestions that meets as many as the following as possible? Much appreciated!

1. Windows 2k Server ed.
2. Slot 1 PentiumIII 733mhz CPU
3. AGP 4x blah blah PCI slots galore

Basically, I just need a mobo that I can buy lots of cheap ram for and I don't really plan to overclock much, if any. Any if have any tips on swapping out mobo's without reinstalling the OS I'd thank you wholreheartedly for any help there as well!!!

Here it is a pain in the arse to get the details on a good system Here is what I am going for..

Take advangage of the 266 Mhz bus speed.. I mean that is where the speed is right?

If you got 250 to spend here is how I would spend it

1. DFI SK76-SN Board (6 pci slots 2 ddr ram slots 2100, AGP 4x ETC read the reviews I mention later 107.00 bucks
2. AMD athlon 1.0 266 FSB (NOT the 200 FSB) 77 dollars
3. 256 meg DDR 2100 RAM 45-55 bucks
With Shipping you are right under 250. get the prices off pricewatch dot com.

You can thank me later. And check the reviews at tomshardware dot com look on the main page for the review titled. "Only the Best: 9 Athlon Motherboards With The AMD 760 Chipset"

I never bought a athlon and thought that Intel was the only way to go... That P3 is going to set you back a comprable amount. Check my figures and stats... I think you will think another way after this.
