need some help with battlefield 1942

hi im having some problems with battlefield 1942. every time i join a server i get disconnected for no apparent reason. i've had this problem before and it was fixed for a while when i completely reinstalled battlefield 1942. And now as you can see it has reappeared. I am up to date with all updates for the game

Do you have punkbuster enabled?
Are you trying to join games for mods that you do not have? Mods make up most bf servers.
Does it happen before you join or do you play for a little while and then get the disconnect?
