hey all

My parents and grandmother live out in the woods and the only channels they've ever got have been NBC,ABC, and CBS. Lately when the channels all went digital I got them a couple Zenith DTV boxes (which are great btw) but neglected to get digital antennas. They're both using ordinary rabbit ears that are about 5 years old. Since I put them in there's been video glitches and distorted from time to time, and my grandmother can only pick up ABC. My sister got this digital antenna that she raves about and claims she gets 5 channels.

I've been looking on amazon and really can't decide which would be the best one. They all mostly look the same and I'm wondering if someone here at anandtech can cut threw the bull. I'm just looking for a cheap indoor antenna thats preferably small and can pic up at least the 3 channels above with decent quality.

I've actually heard good things about this Terk HD Antenna but I've never used one, what exactly makes it different than ordinary rabbit ears anyhow? If anyone has any experience with this model and can shed some light on it I'd be very appreciative. Personally I stopped watching tv years ago and depend on netflix/hulu for my viewing pleasure.

I doubt those will work any better than the antenna you have already. You probably need an outdoor/attic antenna.

any suggestions on what brand/model? I have looked at those also but didn't want to buy a big bulky thing, spend the time to set it up, and then find that it's a piece of junk.
