I'm trying to help somebody, remotly, figure out a problem with their Klipsch 5.1 system with an Audigy platinum card. The problem is that playing a DVD movie like Tombrader using winDVD, a hollywood card, the speakers set to 5.1 produced a popping sound like a helicopter. I read the fac and had them set the sampling rate to 48 but was told that the system isn't connected up digitally. There is a digital out on the card and a digital imput on the speakers, but the person got a connector wire with neither the card or the speakers. Is that possible. Where would you get such a connector if you wanted to connect digitally. Are the Klipsch 5.1's digital? Anyway, changing the sampling rate didn't help. The system runs WinXP and has been updated with the November update for WinXP from creative. We got the popping to almost stop once by closing and reopening the film. I didn't set this system up so I'm not real sure what's happening, but if you change it to a normal 2 speaker type setting the popping goes away. It sounds ok, but the surround is much richer except for the damn popping. Anybody know what might be happening? Thanks
