Need some help with an Android Tablet

Hey all,

So I am finall replacing my first gen Nexus 7. Tablet prices have gotten crazy since then!! I play some games but nothing crazy (game like Dragon city, Monster Legends, stuff like that). Anyhow I have been looking at the Nvida Shield K1 for $199 and the Asus ZenPad 8 for $259.

Almost everywhere I look has the Nvida Shield rated as the better tablet. Though i am confused as to why. I am hoping some people can help shed some light for me.:

  • The Nvida is 1900 x 1200 resolution vs the Asus being 2048 x 1536. Would the higher resolution look better especally witht eh higher PPI?
  • The Asus is also an IPS display where the Nvida is OLED i believe. Aren't IPS displays clearer and more accuarte color wise?
  • The Asus has the Intel Atom z3580 chip a 2.3ghz quad core vs Nvida with Tegra K1 being only a dual core 2.5ghz. Isn't the Atom a better cpu over all?
  • The Asus comes with 4gb of ram(for $259) vs the tegra only having 2gb. Wouldn't having more ram on a tablet extend the life span of the tablet considerably to play newer apps & games?
  • Nvida does have a better GPU than the ASUS, but is that the main reason why all these site rank it better?

Those are most of my thoughts, I am just trying to figure out why the Nvida is better or said to be better. IS it just the GPU? IS it something else? Is the Zenpad 8 a worthwile purchase for $259 getting the 64gb internal memory and the 4gb of ram?
