Need some help with a PC and Mac machine

Hi All, I'm longtime lurker, first time poster.

I would like to setup a home network. I have a PC (running XP Pro) and my bro is using a Mac Mini. I have a WRT54G (ver. 2) and he will be getting a Airport Express soon..

We ultimately would like to share files and eventually add an external network hardrive (are the Buffalo's HD's any good?). Is there an online tutorial or can someone provde a link to get me started.

Airport Express? That's an Access Point with a connector for your stereo. You mean Airport Extreme don't you? (The 802.11g card).

If so, you can either install an FTP client/server on the computers and transfer files via FTP, or you can configure the Mac to connect to the Windows machine via SMB. I've found a link with instructions for the latter in an archived topic.
