I just built a new system. I have listed all the parts I bought from Newegg below. Basically, when I first put it all together, I had a bit of trouble getting the heatsink on tight due to the shitty way it clips on.

I followed Arctic Silver's guidlines for thermal compound, I put a single little bead of thermal compound, twisted the heatsink a bit, and got the locking mechanism snapped on.

Booted system and noticed that wow, it was hot, cpu temp jumped to like 80 celcius during just the BIOS.

Shut it all down, got the heatsink snapped on tighter.

Everything works now, except my cpu temps as reported by BIOS and this Utility Asus included, have my CPU sitting around 50 Celcius idle, and high 50s after playing World of Warcraft for a few hours.

My motherboard (presuming chipset) is constantly reporting temperature as 61 celcius.

All these temps seem rather hot. I know the Vid Card I got runs hot, but with the heatsink I have on my processor I was expecting temperatures about 15 degrees cooler. And same for the motherboard.

My only problem with it is the PSU. Though other s will tell you to get an Intel system.

Coolmax isn't known for there great PSUs. Not to mention you don't need 700W. Get yourself a nice Antec or Corsair with about 500W or better.

Well, I did a bit more digging, and it seems that my motherboard temps are because of the location of the sensor in relation to the video card.

2nd, I can probably redo the heat sink and perhaps get better cooling.

The PSU hasn't had any bad marks on the egg, but you are more than likely write, that its just a medium quality psu, vs top quality.

Newegg reviews are worth nothing unless there is a common problem with a pruduct. As far as PSUs go people give them a good rating if they turned on and ran there system for more then a month.
