Need some help with a HDCP issue

First, here's my hardware and software:

Macbook Pro (early 2008)
GeForce 8600M GT (latest driver from NVIDIA, not the bootcamp driver)
LG Blu-ray drive in a USB enclosure
Dell E228WFP (supports HDCP according to specs) monitor connected via DVI
Windows Vista SP2
Cyberlink PowerDVD 7.3

PowerDVD will play Blu-ray discs without any problem if I put it on the laptop display. If I put it on the external monitor though, it says "Fail to enable HDCP. Please switch to analog output (VGA, D-Sub) and try again. - (Error Code = 0107)".

I usually extend the desktop over both displays. In case it made any difference, I tried disabling the laptop display, but that didn't make any difference. I restarted the computer with the laptop display disabled. Still didn't work.

According to the NVIDIA Control Panel, there's no problem with HDCP on the external monitor. In the section called "View HDCP status", it says "Your graphics card and display are HDCP-capable" for the Dell E228WFP monitor.

Anyone have ideas on what could be wrong? Thanks for any tips.

Edit: I guess I never explicitly said what problem I'm trying to solve. I'm trying to get HDCP working on the external monitor so that I can watch Blu-ray movies on a 22" screen rather than the laptop's 15" screen.

Edit #2: I wrote "GeForce 6800M GT" rather than "GeForce 8600M GT"
