I've got a strange problem with my floppy drive. On system boot up, the drive shows up in the bios screen, but
it won't work until I'm in windows.
If I have a win start up disk in the drive when I power on, it doesn't recognize that there's a floppy disk in the
drive and takes me straight into windows.
When in windows I can click on the floppy icon and open it up or perform all regular tasks associated with the
floppy drive.

Any ideas as it's hard to get to the "A" prompt when I want to format a drive.
Frankly, I'm stumped on this one.

My guess is, inside your BIOS the boot sequence is HD then Floppy.
You might want to put Floppy as the first boot device.

Make sure boot up floppy seek is disables, FDC is enabled, and floppy swap is turned off.

Also, does the floppy life - always stay on - always stay off - come on for 5 seconds during boot them go off.

The boot sequence is a/c/scsi
TunaBoo, I'll check the settings you gave me and post back.

Could'nt finf a setting "FDC" all other settings where good.
On boot up, the power light on the floppy comes on for aprox 5 sec and then goes off.
Any other ideas?
and what is FDC?
