need some help with a car amplifier

I bought an amplifier of ebay about a week ago and the guy sold it asis, saying he didnt have a way to test it. i got the amp and hooked it up to test it and it turned on. well, i plug the rca cables from the back of my deck into the input on the amp and i get no sound from the speaker output. is there any easy way to figure out what is wrong with the amp. and does anyone know of a place in the tacoma, washington area that can test the amp for free or cheap? thanx
